Marius Șopterean, Prof.Univ.Dr.Habil
Film and Theater Director, he has made theater shows, documentary and fiction films. His films were selected in national and international film festivals (Tel Aviv, Florence, Gyor, Malecorto, Budapest, Toulouse, Newbrandenburg, Montpellier, Lyon etc.)
In 2007 his film “The Great integration” won the The Romanian Filmmakers Association award for best directing. In 2008, his book “Utopia and Film has won the same institution’s award for best filmology book.
In 2018 TRANSILVANIA International Film Festival (TIFF) presented, in the opening, the documentary short “Papusa”.
Since 1990 he has been involved in teaching theater and film. He is a University Professor since 2008. He teaches film (graduate, masters and PHD levels) both at the National University of Theatre and Film “I.L. Caragiale” in Bucharest and in Cluj, at Babes Bolyai University’s Film and Theater Department.
He was the Director of the Film Department at UNATC.
He is a founding member and competition director of CINEMAIUBIT student film festival.
He is a national and international juror for numerous film festivals(Łódź, Berlin, Veneția, Beijing etc).
