Laura Baron

Laura Carmen Baron is a professor at UNATC “I.L. Caragiale” in Bucharest, the Multimedia and Film Section.
A graduate of the first promotion of the multimedia department (1993-1997) currently professor of craftsmanship – Art Directed Editing.
In 1995 she attends to the courses of Avid software in London. Supporter of purchasing this software in Romania, succeeds with digitally editing the Good Morning Romania film, a project co-financed by the U.S. Government.
Laura Carmen Baron has sustained activity both within the university and in the private sector (film, advertising, television).
For the master cycle in the multimedia department she implements the study of “non-conventional editing”.
Designs and lectures about advertising for all sections of the Faculty of Film. For a better understanding of “the market” in this industry, she involves students in various projects outside of the university and support them in their personal projects.

Editor of feature and short films, producer of films and commercials, tv show creator, film festival and cultural events organizer.
Author of two books, about editing and it’s implementation Estetica si Tehnologie – Revolutia Digitala a Montajului and Lucruri care nu se vad, the second one refers to the means used in the process of making a film.
Publishes articles in various professional publications (Apropo tv, Imagoo, Media&Advertising, “Arta sau politica” published by Victor (Bucuresti), “Cariera” magazine, “Film” magazine, etc.)

During her teaching career, Laura Carmen Baron sustained workshops and master classes in Romania and abroad (Arizona University-SUA, Lusufona Portugalia, Orange, Leo Academy, Festivalul Dakino etc).
